Kirby's Birthday!

This week we celebrated Kirby's birthday! October 26th, our little pup turned three years old! We received this guy for Christmas the first year we were married from my mother-in-law. He is the sweetest puppy you'll ever meet! He doesn't care much for toys other than his rope, so I got him a bacon bone. He didn't leave that bone alone until it was completely gone!

Being a stay-at-home mom, I decided to volunteer my time this week for the neighborhood. With Halloween just around the corner, our neighborhood is having a party tomorrow. It will be really fun when Adam is in elementary school, but they needed helpers to clean and decorate. Since I'm at home, I decided to volunteer for the cleaning since it was happening in the morning. I was able to meet the president of our HOA board as well as some other neighbors. Adam was not having it, but he was dressed to represent Rusty's alma mater.

We attended our former high school's (yes, Rusty and I attended high school together though we didn't date at the time) marching band competition. Rusty was in the band along with a lot of my friends, so we met up with several of our friends to listen to the better bands. Turns out the exhibition band was from University of West Georgia (MY alma mater) and they were incredible. I wish I had gone to see them when I was still in school.

Oh, and Uncle James bought Adam a new paci.

Photoshoot

This past week we had Adam's six month photoshoot! I found a cute little pumpkin patch just a few minutes down the road and we were able to use the lake in our neighborhood too. We took this time to do some family pictures too, since we didn't have any professional pictures and I wanted some for Christmas cards in a couple of months. Katie Cooper Photography didn't disappoint. We've only seen a sneak peak so far and I am already in LOVE!! Just waiting for the rest!

Baby Bibs

This week we got Kirby's haircut again. He feels so much better - you can tell because he's jumping around. Afterwards, since my mother-in-law (Memaw) won't charge us for the grooming, I took her out to lunch. She chose Firehouse Subs - which is exactly what Rusty would've chosen.

I also got a cute Halloween bib and some socks in the mail from Adam's great-grandmother. She called me before it got here so I could be on the lookout. It was sweet of her to think of Adam when she saw it (he is her only great-grandchild).

I got to do nursery this Sunday at church. I love doing nursery and have been doing it since I was in middle school. The church we attend now is a much smaller church than I grew up in, which means there is less children. So even though I was there for any baby, my baby was the only one there. O.O

That just meant cuddles with Adam all morning! No complaints here!

Half Of A Year

October 11th, Adam turned six months old. Our little guy is a half of a year old!

We used our new pediatrician (about three weeks ago I had a tour, I don't think I ever wrote about it) and I think I'm really going to like it! The place we were at before had one doctor, smaller facility, but still really nice people. This one has four full time doctors and four part time doctors. There are always four doctors at the office and each one specializes in something. The doctor we had this time (you can choose one doctor every time or use them all, so we're trying them out) specializes in behavior and allergies. Anyways, they also have separate entrances for sick kids, well kids and newborns. They also have a whole facility next door for the same doctors, but for when the kids turn 13 and older so they don't feel like little kids in the other building. They even have an app for you to view all of your child's records, prescriptions and to ask questions directly to your doctor. So far, I'm very impressed and Adam seemed to take to the doctor very quickly.

We were told Adam is perfect. He has gained a good bit of weight so he's up to the 10th percentile, instead of the 2nd like he was before. He is in the 33% for height and the 27% for head circumference. The pediatrician says he is just a small guy. He got the last shots that he'll have for a while - except for a flu booster that he'll get in one month. I'm so thankful for a healthy baby!

ZOO!!

As a housewarming gift, we received two tickets to the zoo! I love the zoo, but we decided to wait at the time because Adam (he gets in free until he's two) because he really wouldn't care. Well, Groupon had a half-off deal for the fall. Because my mom's (Nana's) birthday is the 7th, Nana, Papa and my siblings all decided to purchase tickets and we'd all go there and out to eat for her birthday. It was soooo much fun. As we thought, Adam really didn't care much for it, but everyone else had a lot of fun! Plus, we decided to go to The Varsity for lunch after (Nana's choice) and it was also really good. If you ever have a chance to go there - the onion rings are the bomb! I also made "tuxedo" cupcakes for her and everyone agreed that they were delicious. Overall, it was a fantastic weekend!

New Month, New Adventures

It's October! It's still pretty hot as if its still the summertime, but I'm not complaining - I am not a fan of the cold. Got Adam a new shirt in celebration of Uncle James coming over to spend the night. I made brownies too from a family recipe (but Adam didn't get any of it).

Adam also got a new jacket that is so adorable. I've gotten many responses through FB and IG about it. I got it, his "Uncle" shirt and many other clothes this week from a children's only consignment shop. It is one of the best I've been to because none of the clothes have stains or tears (which is asking a lot for second-hand baby clothes).

We were able to see Nana and my sister this week for lunch as well as Grammy and Grandpa, who brought Adam some new pjs! Speaking of pjs, instead of just getting fussy when he's tired, he's started laying his head on whomever is holding him. I like this way a lot more than whining.

Adam has started the bubble blowing faze and he sill not stop. He does it while playing. He does it with his paci in. It's very entertaining.

Also, because it was a slow week, I decided to make an indoor pool for Adam in the kitchen sink. I stuck him in his bathing suit that he didn't grow into for the summer, so never really got to use and gave him a spatula. Wouldn't you know it, he learned to splash and now we're seeing him splash during bath time too!
