Meet The Blogger

Who am I?

My name is Jenny. When my husband, Rusty, and I first got married, I had literally just graduated college two weeks before. I was able to get a job, working for a huge marketing corporation in Atlanta. In the three years I was there, I was able to move from the lowest contract position on the online marketing team to a permanent employee to a team lead to a manager of a team of sixty people. I loved what I did and more than that, I liked making decisions, leading a group, and being in charge (I tell everyone I have control issues).

However, when we decided to have a baby, Rusty and I discussed what to do and there was no doubt in my mind that I would stay home. I've never been one to value money over family time and relationships. Luckily, we knew when we got married that me staying home was a goal when we had children, so Rusty, who has always been a driven person, set out to be successful professionally while doing something he enjoyed. In turn, we were able to put my salary directly into a savings account and learn from the beginning of our marriage to survive on one salary.

Just a short three years into our marriage, I gave birth to a precious baby boy and neither Rusty nor I understood this kind of love. I became a stay-at-home mom for a wonderful little boy. There are tiring days of keeping him out of messes and wonderful days as he learns new skills. There are stressful days when I feel I am failing as a mother and a wife and beautiful days when I get to see my son and husband bond in unbelievable ways. There are days when I yearn for adult interaction and days I just want to be left alone. With all of this, I wouldn't give up my life for any other. My goal is to be the best wife, mother, and woman I can be, even if that is extremely tough to achieve.

Please enjoy my blog and offer-up your own opinions. I have never claimed to know it all.

Oh, and thank you for reading.

Jenny Bailey
