Birthday Flowers & Hello

This week was my BIRTHDAY! YAY!

Before we get to that though - this week, Rusty got out his Game Boy Micro and tried to show Adam how to play. Adam more wanted to watch Rusty play because two buttons and arrows are still too much for him to understand. He loved seeing Mario run around though.

We all know that Adam's favorite song is "Hello" by Adele. As soon as he hears the first note, he gets super excited and prepares to sing. I haven't been able to get much on video because as soon as he sees the camera, he stops. This week, I was able to sneak a pretty good shot though.

Friday was my birthday! Rusty sent me the most beautiful bouquet of flowers. It filled the entire house with the smell of spring!

Rusty and I sat down this week and discussed our favorite words that Adam currently says. He talks so much lately that we don't want to forget the funny interpretations of words. Here are our current favorites:
  • Mumps = Pants
  • Sash = Giraffe
  • Turby = Kirby
  • Momiha! = Kamehameha
  • Bee Boo Bah = Dragon Ball Z
  • Ding-Dong = Gengar
  • Manket = Blanket
  • Momio = Mario
  • YaYa = Grandpa
  • Jeeta = Vegeta
  • F**K = Frog
Last night, I worked on some artwork for Faye's nursery. I've decided to do all pastel colors. I think this will work great with the white furniture we've picked out and is a good pairing with Adam's primary color room. I wanted to put a little video game spin on it like I did for Adam's room too. I love how it's turning out! Now to work on her bedding set and mobile!

One last photo from today. This just shows how patient Kirby is. Adam constantly is hugging, tugging, chasing, and kissing on Kirby and he takes it all.

Etsy & Valentine's Day

What a week! Hang in there with me - so much has happened!

First - I'll share some cute Adam stories. Adam has begun lining up his cars where ever he takes them. He can even identify the red ones and the police ones.

Adam is constantly asking Rusty to push him in the car. This week, I got it all on video.

This week, I mailed out my FIRST Etsy order! Oh, didn't I tell you about it? I've started an Etsy store! I've been making baby blankets for friends for a year or so now, so I decided to take those patterns and examples and start a shop. In the week that it's been open, I've gotten one order and two inquires! I'm really excited that it's happened so fast!

For Valentine's weekend, Rusty's mom, Memaw, offered to have Adam spend the night (for the first time), while Rusty and I celebrated Valentine's Day and my birthday! We saw Deadpool in theaters, spent a couple of hours at Reformation Brewery with friends (I, of course, couldn't drink, but it has a great, laid back atmosphere), and ended the day with dinner at Century House Tavern (FANTASTIC!).

Sunday, Rusty dropped me off at church since I had to decorate and he went to his mom's house to get Adam. A family at our church knew that Adam liked trains, so when cleaning out their house, they found and gave Adam the first season of Thomas The Train. Since then, I think we've watched all of the episodes six times each. He LOVES it. This is the first "kid" show we've let him watch (other than Dragon Ball Z).

Today, Adam and I met my parents for lunch for an early birthday meal and then we went off to the courthouse so I could renew my car, There is a playground at the courthouse that my parents' used to watch Adam while I dealt with the car stuff inside.

Overall, it was a great, busy week!

Gender Reveal Party!

Saturday, we had our Gender Reveal Party!

Unlike Adam's reveal, we decided to just invite immediate family over and do a more low-key party.

We provided sandwiches and Chick-fil-a nuggest for lunch and just hung out for the afternoon.

I found confetti poppers to do the reveal and the pictures turned out really cute!

That's right! We're having a GIRL! In July, we will introduce Faye Garnet Bailey into the world!

Trains, Trains, Trains!

Adam's really taken to a book about a rabbit (which he calls "rubby") recently. He's been practicing, quite a bit, on jumping like a rubby. Here's where he's at:

Saturday, we went to an event at the local train museum called "Trains, Trains, Trains!". Adam loves trains and it works out that we live close to some tracks. The museum had lots of activities for kids, TONS of model trains, and a huge LEGO train display. Plus, as we were walking to the entrance (which is right next some tracks), a train passed and Adam was so excited! He wanted Rusty to sit down on the sidewalk to watch it pass - so he did. Adam is still talking about the trains!

Monday, we woke up early (for us) to get to Adam's future preschool! That's right! We signed him up for a two day, two year old program! I think it'll give him some much needed socialization with other kids his age, where neither Rusty or I am there. It'll also give him a "big boy" activity that is all his own since the new baby will be here about a month prior to school starting.

For Christmas, Adam got a shirt to represent our family Hogwarts' House. Being a huge Harry Potter fan, I'm sure Adam would be sorted into Ravenclaw, just like me! I LOVE this shirt on him!

Speaking of jumping, today at Toddler Time (and it being a new month), new songs were sung - one of which involved jumping like a little green frog! Adam was all too ready to show off his skills!
